How a ZIP page is built
From public data only
Zillow Research for values and rents, HUD for Fair Market Rents, the Census Bureau for property tax and building permits, Freddie Mac for the rate, NAIC for insurance. Each figure carries its source and month.
Published only with real rows
8,418 ZIPs have Zillow value and rent. 17,850 more use HUD's Fair Market Rent, labelled as such. A ZIP without a rent from either source gets no page. Missing values show as missing, never as zero.
Arithmetic you can check
Every ZIP page itemises the pro forma and opens the calculator with its figures. The methodology gives each formula and default.
Estimates from public data for a typical property. Not investment, tax or legal advice. Your property, financing and costs will differ.
